Premila Hoon OBE, Managing Director
Premila Hoon is a co-founder of ECA. She was previously Global Head of Media & Entertainment Structured Finance at Société Générale (SG) until December 2008. She ran the teams based in New York and London, specializing in originating, structuring and financing of all forms of film, TV and intellectual property rights in conjunction with the client relationship, asset finance and securitization and leveraged finance teams. Whilst at SG, she led a number of major film financing transactions including the US$570m financing transaction for Dune Entertainment, the US$200m financing for Cold Spring Pictures and the US$242m financing for the acquisition of the Hallmark television channels.
Prior to working at SG, Premila was a director at Guinness Mahon & Co, a boutique investment bank with a strong media specialization, which was acquired by Investec in 1998. The main focus of her team was to provide financing to high-profile independent film production companies such as Working Title (now part of NBC Universal), Merchant Ivory and Capitol Films.
Premila was a governor of the British Film Institute from 1990 to 1996 and Chair of the Industry Working Group on Fiscal Policy for Film from 2004 to 2007. She was awarded an OBE in 2001 for services to the British film industry.
